Portrait of the Artist

So, my ego got the better of me and i've put up a self portrait.

I'm finding that I'm getting more interested in reflections, either mirrors or buildings. I never was much of an urban photographer, mainly snapping mountains and climbing previously, so I'm finding it interesting to see what catches my eye and what themes are beginning to appear in my photography.

Still, there's always something to look out for in Brussels.

DG Research, looking in at itself

ReflectedBuildings

Taken on Rue de la Loi, this shows the modern face of Brussels and it's corperate/euzone mixture of steel and glass buildings. Sure they have nice lines but that completely lack character or substance.

The mixture of old and new styles in Brussels is quite incredible, but the modern standards are cheap and bland. Many of the old architects had their names carved into stone on their buildings, but who wants to take credit for a big flat sheet of glass?
