A New Flag
This abandoned house has had those small German and EU flags outside it for a long time, where they're slowly rotting away. Recently the huge Union Jack has arrived.
I have no idea why.

Meeting Mr President
We'd heard a rumour that there was a life-sized cardboard Hans-Gert Pöttering in the ground floor of the European Parliament, so we went looking for it.
We sneaked in through an empty office that had been left unlocked and wandered around the EP print room untill, magically, a door opened and there he was. Both of him. (You can see the second one in the background) Strangely he was on a plinth and I'd swear his head was out of proportion.
The parliament never fails to surprise, does it?

A Shameful Moment
Neo-Nazi nick Griffin, leader of the BNP sits to wait his turn to get registered as an MEP.
Just what Europe needs. There's a neeting of the far-right nutcases in the Parliament this afternoon as the little fuhrers try to form a group.
Which will last until they realise they all think they're superiour to the other members of the group.
A vile moment.

parliament chamber
At the EP thousands of jounalists hunted down politicians for interview as we waited and waited and waited for the election results.
The various groupd had events, but some were elusive, I never did find the ALDE party and the EPP one was wildly understaffed. Anyway, we wandered into the chamber to watch some snazzy graphics before wandering out again, many towards the bar.
