peg hairdresser
This sign really confused me as I approached it. I could tell the lower one was one of those hairdresser signs that had really scary looking people on, but why the clothes peg hovering threateningly overhead?

Scissors are so passé, nowadays the fashion crowd gets their hair plucked out with a washing pin.
I could be true, you know. Not so long ago it was fashionable in New York to get the ends of your hair burned of with a candle, because it would 'damage' the hair less than with scissors.
Let me assure you this is crap: I had my hair burned off in a gas explosion and my hair dresser freaked out a couple of weeks later.
Perhaps the hairdresser is called Peg.
