New Metro Trains

The shiny new Metro trains arrive in Brussels. The main improvement is the open carriages. The main disadvantage is the sideways seating as the g-forces in the faster trains can send unsuspecting grannies hurtling down the corridors

Grannies (and old ladies generally) are a remarkably adaptive and competitive race, especially the ones travelling with public transport. I'd bet they'll need no more than a week to figure out the physics of travelling in the new trains. After that, they'll be solid as a rock and unsurpriseable (I doubt there is such a word, but you get the meaning).

Open carriages... that ought to be an improvement for beggars as well.
