The Underground Fish
Taken under Rue de la Loi. The network of underground car parks in Brussels is not only good for traffic but for pedestrians wanting to escape the rain, which has suddenly returned.
They're atmospheric places, the rumble of the traffic, the hum of the fans and the echo of your footsteps gives it a sensation of being somewhere 'other', of not being in any specific place. I think of it as entering Alphaville.
Then there's the fish. I have absolutely no idea who put them there - they look official - or why. I am pleasantly baffled by this. Why are there fish in Brussel's underground car parks?
